There were three successful „full house” events on the same day: International Conference, handing over of Eminence prize founded by the Society, Bibimbap Festival. Initiator and manager of the realization of the events was Szegő Andrea. It was an innovative element that the Conference focused not on the past but on the future.
Hungary-Korea Society organized an International Conference in the Ceremonial Hall of Hungarian Academy of Sciences on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Hungary and the Republic of Korea. Renowned personalities of those fields were invited as lecturers where there was a possibility for the further development of the relations between the two countries.
Welcome remarks at the event were delivered by H.E. Chung-Ha Suh, ambassador of the Republic of Korea, and Szabó Vilmos, deputy minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Main Speaker of the Conference was Pálinkás József, president of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences on the Hungarian side, on Korean side Dong-Pil Min, chairman in the position of a minister of the Korea Research Council of Fundamental Science and Technology (leader of 13 research institutes) and Geung-Chan Bae, leader in the position of a state secretary of the Korean Institute of Foreign Affairs. In addition to them lectures were held by leaders and dignified personalities of many other Korean and Hungarian institutions. On Korean side the lectures of Jong-Yil Ra, former Ambassador to Britain and Japan, of Jong-Choon Kim, general director of KOTRA in Hungary, on the Hungarian side the lectures of Kovács Árpád, president of the State Audit Office, president of Hungarian Economic Association and of Kádár Béla, academician, honorarty president of Hungarian Economic Association enriched the program.
