Hungary-Korea Society organized the program for the time when a delegation of the scientists of the joint laboratory working in Korea arrived in Hungary, headed by Dr. Chonyong Hwang, who is the leader of the joint laboratory on the Korean side.

Dr. Szegő Andrea, president of Hungary-Korea Society expressed her thanks for the possibility of visiting the joint laboratory.

By presenting the „spiritual family tree” of Hungarian physicists she commemorated the Hungarian Nobel prize winner physicists, but she mentioned her family heritage, too, that connects her with physics.

On the photo we can see Dr. Páinkás József, president of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and Dong-Pil Min, president in ministerial position of the Council of Scientific and Technological Basic Researches in Korea.

Their personal meeting was an important step towards the opening of the laboratory one year later.

Upon our invitation Kim Hyan-Du, councillor of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea took part at the program.

Councillor Kim Hyan-Du said brief welcome remarks to participants of the program.

Prof. Bársony István, director of the Centre for Energy Research of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.

Dr. Chanyong Hwang, Korea Research Institute for Material Science, (Daejon) who is the leader of the Korea-Hungary Joint Nano Laboratory on the Korean side, reported briefly on the common work.

We had to follow the lectures with close attention, plenty of new new information could be heard at them.

Prof. Biró László Péter, academician, took time to receive the members of our Society.

Nanotechnology of graphene

About nanotechnology a member of our Society, Dr. Tapasztó Levente held a very interesting lecture entitledThe lecture contained a lot of new information for the participants in spite of the fact that most of all our technically interested fellow-members with technical qualifications took part at the program.

Participants could ask questions in connection with the lecture.

Coffee break was good for everyone.

There was a possibility for useful and interesting conversations.

Members of our Society visited several laboratories together with the members of Korean delegation.

At first this table seemed to be very complicated.

Reason for the eager attention is that we could learn here that thanks to the measurements, experiments of the laboratory the security of the Paks Nuclear Power Plant could be raised to a higher level.

We could have a look at the replica of the Power Plant on a small scale.

The next laboratory allowed an insight into the examination of material structures that cannot be seen with the eye.

We got acquainted with electron microscope, too.

Fellow members came from Debrecen, too.

Listening to Dr. Tapasztó Levente about this wonderful instrument everything seems to be very simple…

………but it is not so! One has to be able to analyze these pictures and diagrams.

Physicists are inventive even today, and they work not only with instruments of several millions value. At this „measuring instrument”, for instance, some „rubber spiders” had an important role, as well.

Participants got tired, but they became rich with a lot of new information.

Everyone was glad to have been here.

In memory of the wreath-laying: Dr. Szegő Andrea, President handed over a framed photo montage to Mr. Chung Ui Hwa, on which all important events related to the statue could be seen.

All Korean guests visiting Hungary were moved when they stood next to the statue.

The script on the ribbon of the wreath of the Korean National Assembly could be read in English and Korean language. The colours of the flowers in the wreath were those of the Korean flag.

On the stage the Silver String zither ensemble, Keresztúri Gyöngyi and Kersztúri Zsuzsi.

Dr. Szegő Andrea, president, said welcome remarks to the guests on behalf of Hungary-Korea Society.

 H.E. Yim Geun-Hyeong, Ambassaor of the Republic of Korea, honorary president of Hungary-Korea Society enriched his welcome remarks with a lot of humour.

Participants of the picnic were welcomed as a guest by L. Simon László, deputy minister of Prime Minister’s Office, president of Hungary-Korea Parliamentarians’ Friendship Group, honorary president of Hungary-Korea Society.

Dr. Kis Norbert, deputy president of the University of Public Services welcomed participants as „host” of the event.

After short speeches the cultural program began on the stage.

Mugunghwa Ensemble, the dance group of Korea Cultural Center performed chracteristic Korean dances in traditional Korean costumes on traditional Korean music.

The audiences followed the program sitting under shadowy trees in the nice sunny weather.

But there was a possibility for conversations as well.

The artist members of our Society did not perform anything now but they found it important to be present at the event.

Meanwhile Ökrös Sándor of the Karcag Lamb Cooks Association cooked Karcag lamb goulash in a typical Karcag stew-pan, its smell could be felt from a distance.

Cedar Ensemble cheered up the audiences with stormy dances. Dances from Kalotszeg, Vas, Zemplén were performed in costumes of these region.

Dancing together of the participants of the picnic began. The „meadow” was full of dancing Hungarian and Korean guests.

Live music made a great influence on the audiences.

It has not happened before that a Korean ambassador learnt Hungarian folk dances so enthusiastically.

Everyone enjoyed dancing together so much that they did not want to finish it.

Cultural programs were interrupted for a short while by a common lunch. One could eat Korean and Hungarian food.

The Karcag lamb goulash was cooked, too, it was tasty.

The program was carried on with visitng the National University of Public Services „Ludovika”. There was a 20 minutes guided tour for groups consisting of 15-20 members. Thus our Korean guests could get acquainted with the building and consequently, with an important period of Hungarian hinstory.

Those who were not just visiting the building of Ludivika, were also not bored because meanwhile Boros Bence and his accompanist held a Hungarian folk music instrument presentation.
Accompanied by singing, they performed pieces on bagpipe, shawn, shepherd’s pipe.

The end of the picnic was approaching and therefore, we raffled the donations of our sponsors.

Children from the taek-won-do team helped in raffling.

Some people made a short presentation of the product offered by them.

There were funny presents as well, for example wooden spoons with laughing faces.

The main prize, a SAMSUNG TV, would have been won by a member of the Korean Embassy, who announced that shw will further donate the TV set in order that a Hungarian can win it at a repeated drawing – she got big applause for this gesture.

We thanked for the help of the taek-won-do children with small presents.

The event was closed by taek-won-do presentation, performed by the youth team of Hungarian Taek-won-do Association.

The program was realized as a joint project of Hungary Korea Society and Korea National University of Arts.
It happened for the first time that compositions with cimbalom of Kodály and Bartók were performed in Korea.

They were premier performances in Korea.
